Here is a summary of the most recent news I could dig up in the wake of Comic Con 2010

Bless those geeks in the west coast, for if it were not for them and their geek gathering this geek would be enjoying life a whole lot less. In no specific order except for maybe my interest in the project, "all of which I am very interested in".

- I've been waiting all year for this one and it just came out today, hopefully I get a crack at it tonight!

( I did get to watch this last night and it was pretty good. This is probably the darkest project DC/WB has done. It had its flaws as everything does but it was still greatly enjoyable. The art design's are heavily Anime influenced on this one and it works out pretty well. The voice actors and acting  is also very good. Bruce Greenwood heads up the cast as Batman, with minimal lines he delivers a gritty ass performance and really gives Kevin Conroy a run for his money. The rest of the cast is a pretty impressive heavy weight line up in it's own  "Neil Patrick Harris as Nightwing, Jensen Ackles as the Red Hood ,John Di Maggio, Wade Williams as the Black Mask, as the Joker and Jason Issacs as Ra's Al Ghul"

The Jonah Hex "DC Showcase" extra is also voiced by a favorite of mine in actor Thomas Jane and some how they found Linda Hamilton "Terminator" to throw in as the main antagonist Madame Lorraine.
The show case was short but definitely a nice treat with the fight/shoot out sequencing.

Both the DC Showcases Jonah Hex and the Spectre are directed  by Joaquim Dos Santos who has also worked on some notable projects in the last few years such as Justice League, Avatar and G.I. Resolute.
Upcoming Dos Santos will be working on the new Avatar series as revealed in a below link.)

- This looks really well developed. I'm really impressed by the sharp character designs and I'm really looking forward to seeing this in the fall. My only beef so far is  I hate seeing so many different versions of the Justice League, in my mind Bruce Timm perfected it "and this is unreasonable", but I feel every one should either  stick with the DCAU continuum and a similar character design or leave it alone. Well, at least for a couple of more years.  I maybe putting my foot in my mouth by voicing this because it very well could be that they do in this series......

This could be awesome if done right. Japanese anime and American animations are worlds apart and I haven't been that happy with the hybrids that have popped up over the years. I won't go into the details but my two cents is that there needs to a bit more middle ground on the Japanese's end. Come closer to us, we won't bite.

Excited....... wish it was the good ole cast from the first series but I'll take it especially since the fucked up the the movie!!! What a waist of money and potential.

On a side note to my above comments, this series was and is a good step towards anime from the American side of things.

Man, this better be as good as Wolverine and the X -Men since that got canceled after one season. Not that WATXM was the best it was just the closest Marvel and partners got to getting a X-men show right.

Well this concludes the news for now. I will probably be quite for some time since I doubt there will be much of anything for me to comment on until the mid fall.

Bests,
Cedric
